Ohatchee - Funeral services for Mr. George Edward Montgomery, 86 of Ohatchee will be Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Reaves officiating with burial following at Maple Grove. The family will receive friends 1 hr. prior to service at the funeral home.

Mr. Montgomery passed away September 27, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Montgomery is survived by his daughter, Shirley Brown; son, Dennis (Deborah) Montgomery; grandchildren, Christi (Stanley) Watts, Denny (Laurie) Montgomery; great grandchildren, Johnathan Watts, Hunter Watts and Lauren Montgomery. Pallbearers will be Bill Miller, Alan Miller, Jeff Strickland, Joey Gringeri, Toby Morris, Russell Young.

Mr. Montgomery was a native of Ashville and longtime resident of Calhoun County where he retired from Lee Brass and volunteered with the Calhoun County Civil Defense Agency, he was of the Baptist Faith and loved to go fishing with his grandchildren or anyone that would go with him.

Mr. Montgomery is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Montgomery; grandson, Johnathan Blackburn; son-in-law, Boyce Brown; father, Edward Montgomery; mother, Essie Theriot; sisters, Caileen Strickland and Jean Connolley.

Mr. Montgomery’s family would like to send a thank you to Tangie Horton, Summer Haynes, Regina McCloud, Marla Williams and Robin Bryant for being such special caregivers and to Kim Carpenter with Amedysis Hospice.
