Funeral services for Gerry Ray Cates, 56, of Wellington, will be 2 pm Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Coldwater Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Cates died Thursday at his residence.
Survivors include wife Jean Cates of Wellington; son, Tim Cates of Anniston; mother, Nadine Denham Cates of Anniston; and nephews, Michael and Chris Smith
Mr. Cates is preceded in death by his father, Bo Cates, grandparents, Ross Denham Sr. and Mary Leahey Denham and W.L. Cates Sr.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mr. Cates was native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved NASCAR and was an avid Alabama Football fan. He was a loving husband, son and father and will be missed by all.
