Pete is survived by his daughter Tracie Lynn Haynes; his adopted daughter Delaine Kerr (Bobby); and his son Charles Wesley Haynes; his sister Deanie Moore and his brother David Freeman (Peggy); and several nieces & nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Meyer Haynes; his mother Ruby Freeman and his father Curlee Haynes, his sister Linda Sue Pattin and his brother Jimmy Grant Freeman.
A visitation for Pete will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at United Fellowship Baptist Church, 161 Becky Turner Road, Alexandria, AL 36250, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Odem, Jimmy Stone, Byron Clark, Bobby Kerr, Jim Studdard and Rodney Milstead.
Pete was a native of Talladega and a resident of Calhoun County. He joined the US Air Force at 17 and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base where he met his wife of 61 years Maxine Mayer Haynes. Pete relocated back to Anniston, Alabama where he pastored several churches in the area and was a volunteer Chaplain for RMC. Pete retired from the US Air Force Reserve and Anniston Army Depot.
