Funeral services for Harold Dean Young, 81, of Alexandria will be 1pm Monday, June 9, 2025, at Leatherwood Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Winningham and Rev. Danny Rodriquez officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12–1pm at the church. Mr. Young passed away on June 6, 2025, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Bernice Young, son, Scott Young (Kellie), daughter, Shelia Borders (Glenn), sons, Bill Cole (Denise) and Andy Cole (Heather), eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, sister, Barbara Ann McLeroy.
Mr. Young is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Elizabeth Young and brother, James Young.
The pallbearers will be Tony Maxwell, Jake Young, Adam Young, Chez Hulsey, Colton Lacy, and Brian Roden. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Ginn, Todd Ginn and Scott Ginn.
Mr. Young was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. He was a member of the National Guard for fourteen years. Mr. Young was a diesel mechanic and a truck driver for Tyson Foods. He was an avid NASCAR fan and driver, and mechanic in his younger years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren fishing and camping.
