James Lamar Dickson

James is survived by his daughters Barbara (Barbie) Johnson; and Ginger Wooten (Timmy); his son Shane Parker; his sisters Sylvia Easterwood (Mike), Donna Gresham (Donnie) and his brother Jerry Dickson (Becky); his grandchildren Heather Forbus (Trey), Kyle Townsend, Megan Townsend, Caitlyn Townsend, Joanie Toland (Justin), Karie Smith (Anthony), Randi Owen Goodson (Chris), Ten great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

James was preceded in death by his wife Teresa Dickson; his parents Clarence and Nancy Dickson; his brothers Bobby Dickson and Sam Dickson.

Funeral services for James will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Rev. Sylvester Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Edwardsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 5, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers are Joseph Magouyrk, Mark Magouyrk, Jonathan Dickson, Gabriel (Little Man) Silva, Anthony Smith and Kyle Townsend.

James was a native of Calhoun County then moved to Talladega County for a while. He was a member of Praise and Worship, and worked construction before becoming a truck driver. He enjoyed riding in the country and life itself. He had a green thumb, could get anything to grow. James was a loving PawPaw to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
