

A Celebration of Life graveside service for James Dennis Hogue will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 11, 2020 at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Alexandria, AL. Reverend Brian Frost will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the Life of Dennis. The family requests, that everyone in attendance wear a mask and practice social distancing protocols. Dress will be casual and comfortable for all.
James Dennis Hogue, 61, of Coldwater passed away December 8th in Anniston, after a short illness.
Dennis was a graduate of Piedmont High School, and had been employed by New Flyer of America, in Anniston for the last 13 years.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Robert Nicholson (Lakon); his nephews, Keith Nicholson and Brian Nicholson; his great nephew, Cpl (USMC) Andrew and Jenni Nicholson; his great nieces, Brianna and Abby Nicholson, and his great, great nieces, Elaina and Eliza.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, John Calvin (Jack) Hogue; his mother, Elizabeth Louise Hogue, and his sister, Vickie Ann Nicholson.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Williams, Chuck Burns, Josh Doan, Mike Watts, Phillip Watson, and Chase Frost.
Dennis was a member of New Haven Baptist Church. Dennis loved dirt track racing and NASCAR. He spent most of his spare time working with friends on a dirt track pit crew, attending local races, and traveling to different NASCAR venues across the country. Dennis was also an avid Alabama fan. He collected both NASCAR and Alabama memorabilia.
Dennis never met a stranger and remembered everyone he met. It was often remarked, that if you went across the country with Dennis and walked into a restaurant, chances were he would run into someone he new. Dennis will be remembered for his carefree attitude and kindness to others.
The family would like to thank the many friends and co-workers that have reached out to us and shared their relationship with Dennis.
