James Leon Thomason, 74, died Monday, April 1, 2019 at Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be at First Baptist of Williams Wednesday, April 3, from 12-2, graveside service will follow. The Rev. Chris Thomas will be officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Jannie Howard Thomason; children, Patrick Thomason (Sandra), Tiffany Thomason, Kandas Cavender, his mother, Sarah Thomason; brothers, Wayne Thomason, Kenny Thomason; sisters, Jean Green, Francis (Lonnie) Higginbotham, and Beckie (Fred) Barnes; grandchildren, Alix, Skylar and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tyron Green, Kevon Green, Blake Shew, Delano Howard, Thomas Sharp, and Tommy Clontz.
Leon was born in Webster Chapel on June 11, 1944. He went to Alexandria High School. Leon proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He proudly served on the USS Yorktown. Leon was a member of the Duke Masonic Lodge.
Leon was preceded in death by his father, Charles Earnest Thomason; daughter Andrea Cavender, and brother in law, Bufford Green.
