

On August 9, 2012 Jimmie Ruth Goggans, 78, of Anniston, went home to spend eternity with Jesus and loved ones gone before. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 3 pm at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Rev. Judge Glenn Goggans officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 – 3 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Goggans died Thursday at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ernest Goggans; daughters, Sharon Goggans Bright of Pleasant Valley, and Shannon Goggans Underwood (Bill) of Fruithurst; sons, Gregory V. Goggans (Kathy) of Douglasville GA, and Glenn Goggans (Delane) of Wetumpka; grandchildren, Matthew V. Goggans, Hannah Bright Snyder (Dustin), Haleigh Bright, Will, Andrew and Ben Goggans, Dakota and Hunter Underwood; great grandchildren, Brayden and Bryant Snyder, step-grandaughters, Tina Mosbey and Missy DesForges, step-great-grandchildren, Cayleigh and Mckinzie Mosbey, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Goggans is preceded in death by her parents, James and Pearl Peek; sisters, Wilma Dean, and Hershelene McCurdy; and brother-in-law, Howard McCurdy.
Pallbearers will be Matt, Will, Andrew, and Ben Goggans, Bill Underwood, and David Sizemore.
Mrs. Goggans was a native of Dekalb County and lived in Calhoun County for most of her life. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was devoted to her family
