She is survived by her son, John Murphy, and her brother, Leroy Middlebrooks, her fur baby Sophia Grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Dovie Middlebrooks; her son, Scott Murphy; her sister, Vecroy Middlebrooks; her sister, Joyce Dempsey; and her brother, Hules Middlebrooks.

A Committal Service will be held at Forestlawn Gardens, 730 Golden Springs Rd, Anniston, AL 36207, US, on March 12, 2026, from 11:00 am.

Jo Ann was a lifelong resident of Alabama. She graduated Ranburne High School and retired from Auto Custom Carpets. She loved her family, friends and her furbaby, she was an avid Alabama Fan "ROLL TIDE".
