

Graveside services for Mrs. Slaght will be Thursday, August 21, 2025, 11:00 am, at Greenlawn Cemetery, with Preacher Daniel Rodriguez officiating and Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of services.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Slaght; her parents, Paul and Vera Stewart; her sisters, Mary Shanaburger and Kay Victor; granddaughter, Misty Johnson.
She is survived by her 4 daughters, Vickie Allison (Denver), Shirley Parris, Brenda Bragg and Carla Carr (Stanley); her grandchildren, Johnny McIntyre, Alan Parris, Candice Darden (James), Lee Parris (Amber), Amanda Ball (James), Cameron Murray (Stefanie) and Hunter Carr (Ashleigh); great grandchildren, Dylan McIntyre (Jenna), Keith McIntyre, Alex Parris, Destiny McIntyre, Charlee Parris, Judson Parris, Jayden Ball, Kynlee Russell, Jasper Russell, Asher Russell, Atticus Murray and Greyson Carr; great-great grandchildren, Wesley Hardin, Gunner Hardin, Evalee Hardin and Theo McIntyre, including several nieces and nephews.
Joan loved going to yard sales and thrift stores. She was part owner of Slaght Body Shop and Wrecker Service with her husband. Her faith was unwavering and she would pray feverishly everyday for her family.
We would like to give a special thanks to Southern New Beacon hospice, especially Nurse Kamryn for whom Joan developed a deep love and admiration.
