Mr. John L Morris Jr.

Memorial service for John L. Morris Jr., 58 of Anniston, will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Gray Brown-Service with Rev. Harold Epperson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Morris died Friday afternoon at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Morris; son, Tyler Billingsley; daughters, Whitney Bahr, Morgan Morris, Tabitha Morris and Stephanie Morris; step-son, Shane Owens; step-daughter, Lindsay Owens; grandchildren, Tristen, Taylor, Chandler, Konner, Dawson, Chase and Mason; mother, Betty Sue Benefield; caregiver, Janice Barnes and several cousins.

Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Bradley Owens; grandparents, Hezekiah “Hez” and Myrtie Belle Womack Patterson; step-father, Buel E. “Benny” Benefield Sr.

Mr. Morris was a resident of Anniston and a student at Gadsden State in the Computer Engineering Program. He was in the U.S. Army for 16 years with the Military Police. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and continued a strong faith in God as he left this home to be in heaven. Mr. Morris spent countless hours with his son Tyler teaching him life lessons.
