John Michael Stefanov

Funeral mass for John M. Stefanov, 72, of Anniston will be held at 3pm, Wednesday November 1st, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Alookaran officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 2-3pm Wednesday at the Church. Mr. Stefanov passed away at his home on Friday.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Lisa Stefanov; daughters Emily and Deborah Stefanov; sister Bonnie Huhn (Ed); brothers Daniel Stefanov (Kim), Mark Stefanov (Pam), and Patrick Stefanov; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stefanov is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Rita Stefanov; and brothers James and Michael Stefanov.

Mr. Stefanov was a native of Pittsburgh, PA. He retired from the United States Army after 20+ years. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and Baylor University. He worked as a physician’s assistant in the field of orthopedics. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus choir for many years. He was proud of his family and loved gardening and watching baseball. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and son. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
