

Funeral service for John “Dump” Walker, 75, of Anniston, will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Rev. Vernon Willis, Rev. Hollis Martin, and Rev. Jason Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Walker died Friday at RMC.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Gosdin Walker; Son, Michael Wayne Walker; Daughter, Donna Walker Bond (Christopher); grandchildren, Angel Elaine Walker and Brian Michael Walker; and Sister-in-law, Betty Johnson (Leroy)
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents, Amos Walker and Annie Mae Prichard Walker; brother, Earl Walker; and sister, Dorothy Walker Turner.
Pallbearers will be George Walker, Doug Walker, Tim Ford, Ralph Vaughn, Derrick Ponder, and Christopher Bond. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leroy Johnson and Brian Michael Walker.
Mr. Walker was a native of Anniston. He worked at Blue Mountain Industries and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He served in the United States Air Force and loved Alabama football. He attended Halls Chapel Worship Center in weaver. Mr. Walker was a loving father, husband, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
