Kenneth M Sumners Sr.

Funeral Services for Kenneth Michael Sumners Sr., 74 of Delta will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Mr. Sumners passed away January 6, 2017 at his residence.

Survivors include his wife Patricia C. Sumners, daughter Karen Zoeller (Wayne), sons Kenneth Michael Sumners Jr. (Cindy), Daniel L. Sumners (Debbie), sisters Marsha, Donna, Joan, grandchildren Terri Williams, Cody Sumners, Kenneth Michael Sumners III, Victoria Sumners, Melissa Sumners, great grandchildren Corrine Williams, Ethan Williams, Fallon Williams, Nolan Williams, Alisha Sumners, Jackson Sumners, Aiden Sumners.

Mr. Sumners is preceded in death by two sons Monroe and James Sumners.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Mr. Sumners attended Anniston High School and Gadsden State Junior College. He retired from the US Army and the Anniston Army Depot and was 32 degree master mason. He was a Christian and a member of Hepsabah Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and he loved the people at the church very much. He enjoyed gallery shooting, hunting, fishing, and spending time with all of his family. He was a tremendously strong man, who was devoted to his family and children. “He says if he hurt anyone, all he can say is get over it, and if he owe anyone any money, he will put the check in the mail tomorrow. See yall in the funny papers.” He will be sorely missed by all those he has touched.
