Funeral service for Leta Sherman Starr, of Anniston, will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Gray Brown-Service. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Ms. Starr was born June 10, 1916 and died June 27, 2012.
Survivors include her daughters, Marie Starr Moore and Betty Starr O’Steen; daughter-in-law Betsy Starr Word; brother, Harry Logan Sherman; sister, Ethel Sherman Bright; granddaughters, Jan Starr Hughes and Tiffany O’Steen Ray; grandsons, Charles W. Starr II and Henry W. O’Steen II; ten great grandchildren and seven 5th generation children.
Pallbearers will be, Drew Armstrong, Aaron Fortenberry, Douglas Ray, Charles W. Starr II, Jason Starr and Edward Starr Jr.
Ms. Starr was a member of the West Park Heights Baptist Church. She retired from AOD at age 72 after 42 years of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Beacon Hospice. We love you Granny!
