Lois Hale Murray, 102 of Oxford departed from her life here on earth in Oxford on Thursday in Oxford. Visitation will be held Saturday May 12, 2018, 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. with service at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill, with Rev. Howard Wayne Gibbs & Scott Crosson officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
She was born on May 22, 1915 in Cleburne County, the first of ten children born to S.T. & Amanda Denman Hale. After marrying Howard “Chig” Murray on December 9, 1934, they made their home in Calhoun County.
Survivors include three daughters: Sonja Randle (David) of Weaver, Linda DeMoonie (Billy) of Anniston, Kaye Johnson (Harold) of Panama City Beach, FL. 1 grandson David Randle (Lala), 1 granddaughter Tina Goble; 2 great granddaughters; Chelsea Randle & Courtney Randle Deyampert (Taylor), 2 great grandsons, 3 great great grandsons & 3 great great granddaughters; 1 sister Peggy Young (Harold) 1 sister-in-law Dot Hale and many nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Howard Murray, parents S.T. and Amanda Denman Hale, brothers Nelson, Millard, Ivan, Bill and Gene; Sisters Dorothy Hale, Jo Phillips & Nell Nelson.
Lois was the oldest member of Oxford Baptist Church. She was a member of Chainable-Fort Struthers, Daughters of the American Revolution and General William H. Forney, United Daughters of the confederacy. Always a true Southern Lady, she loved her family, life and laughter. She retired from Anniston Sportswear.
