Mary Edna Sams

Mrs. Sams is survived by her sister Judy Harmon (Cecil); her nieces and nephews Pam Carter (Jason), Cindy Moore (Merrill), Mike Lee (Samantha), Robin Criswell, Mark Sams (Jan), Matthew Sams, Jayne Sams and Cortney Gay (John); and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sams was preceded in death by her parents Lily and Otis Sams; her sisters Helen Criswell, Opal Owens and Betty Lee; her brother Bill Sams; and her nephews Greg Tolbert and Pat Sams.

A funeral service for Mrs. Sams will be held Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service, beginning at 10:00 AM.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Slick, Sam Lefoy, Chase Lee, Christian Sampson, Trip Sampson and Micah McGuffey.

Mrs. Sams was well known within the community. She was a member of Saks Baptist Church. She was a long term employee of Regions Bank after that she began working at Alabama Power where she retired at the age of 80. She worked most of her life and enjoyed crossword puzzles in her spare time. She lovingly cared for her dog Skooter who she took in from her nephew. Where ever you saw Mary you also saw her sister and best friend Judy; they were always together. She was loved by all her knew her and will be greatly missed.
