Funeral service for Nan Tolbert, 93, of Northport formally of Blue Mountain, will be 11:00 am, Today, August 28, 2012 at Gray Brown-Service with Rev. Franklin McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Union United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends today one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include her son, Gary Tolbert and wife Rachel; granddaughter, Nancy Tolbert Battle and husband Barry; great grandchildren, Dustin James Battle and Matthew Colby Battle of Northport; sister, Sue Turner of Saks; sister-in-law, Mary Etta Norris of Alexandria; very dear friend, Cleo Goss of Oxford; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Tolbert is preceded in death by her husband, James “Sam” Herdas Tolbert; several brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers will be Barry Battle, Dustin Battle, Colby Battle, Pete Abrams, and Tim Abrams.
Mrs. Tolbert was a native of Calhoun County and a member of Post Oak Baptist Church. She was a graduate and valedictorian of Alexandria High School. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was be greatly missed by all.
