Nellie is survived by her daughter Mary-Katherine Levens (Jeff Krutsinger); her son Anthony Levens (Janet); her daughters Christina Levens, Donna Levens; and her son Jeff Levens; her grandchildren Kayla Levens (Ben Bailey), Jesse-Rene Levens (Dawson Lensgraf), Ashley Levens and her great grandchildren Audrey Dobbs, Austin Dobbs, Georgia Levens.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Levens; her parents Opha and Minnie Shields; her brothers Terry and Fredrick Shields, and her sisters Margie Shields, Barbra Campbell, Shiela Tolsen and Sue Shields.
Funeral services for Nellie will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Rev. Bennie Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Levens grew up in Maryville, Tennessee, and spent time working in Illinois before settling in Wellington, Alabama, in the 1970s. Alongside her husband, she owned and operated a convenience store from 1970s until their retirement in 1995. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church since 1996. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
