Funeral services for Raymond Cranmer, 81, will be Saturday, August 25, 11:00 am at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Reaves and Rev. Emmett Roper officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Mr. Cranmer passed away on August 22, 2018, at his home. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy Cranmer; daughter, Pam ( Scott) McElroy; son, Jamey (Ashley) Cranmer; four grandchildren, Kristin (Corey) Wells, Karah (Grayson) Barton, Garrett Cranmer and Alexa Cranmer; and two great- grandchildren, Levi Wells and Eden Wells; brother, John Cranmer.
Mr. Cranmer was preceded in death by his son David; mother, Lucille; father, Raymond; and sisters, Evelyn Hooper and Barbara Ann Strickland.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Cranmer, Corey Wells, Grayson Barton, Dave Daugherty, Glenn Taylor and Snooky Taylor.
Mr. Cranmer was a 1956 graduate of Alexandria High School, proudly served in the U.S. Navy, was an avid golfer, Ham radio operator, and a remarkable guitar player.
After 40 years of civil service, Mr. Cranmer retired from Anniston Army Depot.
He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church; he loved his savior, Jesus Christ, and served him faithfully.
