Richard Bruce McCartney

Services for Richard Bruce McCartney, 85, from Alexandria, Alabama, will be Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 at 1:00pm at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside services to follow immediately after at Eulaton First Baptist Church. Officiating services will be Pastor Alvin Johnson.

Survivors include his son Michael McCartney (Sonia). Grandchildren, Lauren McCartney, Jared “Chipper” McCartney (Allison) and Dylan McCartney (Hannah). Great- grandchildren, Emerson, Barrett, Charlotte and Campbell McCartney along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his wife Irene McCartney, son Richard McCartney Jr., parents James and Mary McCartney brothers, James “Jabo” McCartney and Charles McCartney. Sisters, Violet “Sue” Hathorn and Rebecca Haynie.

Pallbearers will be Michael McCartney, Jared McCartney, Dylan McCartney, Curtis Cupp, Jody Whaley and Ferrell Nelms.

Mr. McCartney was an attendee of Anniston High School, and a retiree of Anniston Army Depot. He was a long-time member of Leatherwood Baptist Church, and spent his entire life in the service of Christ and community. Charitable donations may be made in addition to or in lieu of flowers.
