Robert Daniel Hammonds

Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elaine Sims Hammonds; his daughters Jayda Clemons (Jeff) and Jona Suco (Manny); his grandchildren Taylor Suco, Bryant Clemons (Caitlin), Landon Suco, Ethan Clemons (Mary), and Peyton Suco, his great grandchildren Hunter Clemons and Camilla Suco and brother-in-law Wayne Sims (Carolyn) and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents John and Alice Hammonds; his sisters Jewel Kearley (Neal) and Ella Kate Baswell (Bud); his nephew Johnny Kearley and his niece Carol Baswell.

A graveside service for Robert will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Michael Howard officiating and Larry Deason speaking at Anniston Memorial Gardens, 4000 US Highway 431, Anniston, Alabama 36206.

Serving as pallbearers are Taylor Suco, Bryant Clemons, Landon Suco, Ethan Clemons, Manny Suco and Jeff Clemons.

Robert was a graduate from Alexandria High School, Jacksonville State University and LSU School of Banking of the South. He was a US Army veteran. He retired as an Executive Vice President from Regions Bank and Farmers and Merchants Bank. He was an avid golfer and Alabama Football fan. He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. He was a loving husband for 63 years to his amazing wife Elaine. He loved his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is part of our treasured memories and will be greatly missed.
