Robert McLeod

Funeral service for Mr. Robert H. McLeod, 80, of Anniston will be Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. February 8, 2011 at Golden Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Roland Brown, Rev. Danny Harris and Rev. Bill Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Iron City Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 prior to the service at the church. Mr. McLeod died Sunday at RMC.

Survivors include wife of 52 years, Carolyn McLeod of Anniston; daughters, Phyllis M. Heath (Larry), Jackie K. Minton (Kenny) all of Anniston; grandchildren, Brittany Heath, Magen Bearden (Justin), Mark Minton (Catey); great-grandchild, Madden Minton; sister, Helen Rothell of Atlanta, GA; brother, Richard McLeod of Anniston; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. McLeod is preceded in death by parents, Albert and Velma McLeod; brother, J.W. McLeod; and sister, Sandra Turner.

Pallbearers will be Billy Strickland, Bobby Wilkins, Justin Bearden, Jeremy Cruse, Billy Ward and Randy Liles. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Fisherman’s Sunday School Class of Golden Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. McLeod was a native of Carroll County, GA and resident of Iron City for most of his life. He was a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon; was a member of the Fisherman’s Sunday School Class and a member of Carpenters for Christ and numerous church committees. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was well loved by everyone that knew him.
