Rodney is survived by his wife, Linda Barker; his daughters Melissa Barker, Belinda Barker (Max), Teresa Riddle, his grandchildren Savannah Cast, Daniel Riddle, John Riddle (Linda) and Jakeb Couch, his four great grandchildren; his sister Barbara Varnum and his brother Harold Barker and several nieces and nephews.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Fannie Barker; his brother Ronald Barker.
Funeral services for Rodney will be Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Rev. Marion New officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside will be Monday, March 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Forestlawn Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Billy Bunn, Robert Moore and Chris Bunt.
Rodney was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Saks 1st United Methodist Church and a former member of the Homebuilder Association. He was owner and operator of L&R Construction Co. He was an avid Nascar Fan and Alabama Football. Rodney was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who never met a stranger. He had a loving heart and a service to his community.
Thanks to the hospice worker especially Allyson McGinnis, his faithful worker Chris Bunt and his dear friend Billy Bunn.
In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to Rainbow Omega on behalf of Rodney.
