Funeral services for Roger Dale Hicks, 72, of Anniston will be Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Rev. Shane Cash officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1 - 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Hicks passed away on Sunday, April27, 2025 in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Hicks, daughters, Sabrina Tate, Stacie Wald, Amorelle Harper (Shaun), and Autumn Hurst (Phillip), son, Denton Plummer (Valarie), grandchildren, Madison Tate, Aime Tate, Kensie Owens, Dillon Stokes, Jordan Wald, Alexia Harper, Addison Harper, Kensley Hurst, Haven Hurst and Gage Hurst, great-grandchildren, Indigo Owens, Ronin Harper is on the way, niece, Malori Miner, great niece, Camdynn Miner and great nephew, Carson Miner, sister, Susie Hale, brother Laverne "Bug" Hicks.
Mr. Hicks is preceded in death by his first wife, Deb Hicks and his parents, Leonard and Polly Hicks.
Pallbearers will be Shaun Harper, Denton Plummer, Mahijah Smith, Stephen Miner, Dillon Stokes and Caleb Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Greene and Bill Young.
Mr. Hicks was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a member of Hill Crest Baptist Church. He was a 1971 graduate of Alexandria High School. He received the Calhoun County's Most outstanding Athlete. Roger loved the Lord and loved worshiping. He loved to watch all kind of sports especially Alabama football.
