Mike is survived by his wife, Teresa, daughter, Jennifer (Scott), and grandchildren, Madison and Colton. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Mac Norton, and his mother Delores Norton.
Mike was born and raised in Heflin, Alabama. He played football for the Heflin Tigers where his size, grit and talent as a lineman earned him the nickname “Tank”.
He worked at The Anniston Army Depot for more than 30 years, where he fittingly built and maintained a variety of complex tanks for the military.
He met his wife while working at the depot and they built a beautiful life together on their farm. Over the years, he enjoyed raising quarter horses, hunting, fishing, boating, tinkering with tractors and equipment, and watching Alabama football. Most of all, he loved sharing all of these things with his family who he loved and protected fiercely.
Mike was known for being an incredibly hard worker who was meticulous about everything he did. He was a man of honesty and his word. To know him was to know the true meaning of integrity, sacrifice, and love.
Mike will be greatly missed until the day we are all reunited again. He is truly irreplaceable and loved beyond measure.
A funeral service for Mike will be held at Anniston Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, November 2, at 2:00 in the afternoon.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.graybrownservice.com for the Norton family.
