

Mr. Johnson was born in Alexandria and lived there his entire life, graduating from Alexandria High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired as Supervisor of Construction at the Anniston Water Department after 30 years of employment. As a Deacon at Post Oak Springs Baptist Church he provided many years of service to God.
Mr. Johnson was a wonderful father and husband, and a fun-loving gentleman with a servant's heart and a love for life. His tremendous work ethic was evident in everything he did. He loved hunting, being outdoors and enjoying music with others. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor with neighbors and friends. He was most at home when surrounded by his family. Most importantly, he was a faithful servant of God.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Finley Johnson, Daughters: Pam (Todd) Ginn of Alexandria and Trisha (Rick) Humphrey of Birmingham; Sister, Judi (Phil) Johnson Robertson of Saks and Brother, W. Bryan “June” Johnson, Jr. (Glenda) of Clovis, New Mexico; Grandchildren: Colby, Katie Rose and Annalee Ginn and Sam, Caroline and Lilly Humphrey, and numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William Bryan Johnson and Vera McGinnis Johnson, Sisters: Margery Johnson Sprayberry and Laverne Johnson Jones, and brother, Ruel Johnson.
Pallbearers include: Todd Ginn, Colby Ginn, Rick Humphrey, Michael Johnson, Keith Finley, Mike Cobb, Brent Cobb and dear friend Jerry Nance.
Honorary Pallbearers include:
Norris Robertson, Don Carroll, the Ruby Gardner Class and Deacons at Post Oak Springs Baptist Church, coworkers at Anniston Water Department and the Alexandria Class of 1958.

The family invites you to celebrate this faithful man: Visitation, Thursday April 4, 6 pm - 8 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 5 at Post Oak Springs Baptist Church with officiating by Dr. Deryl Wood and burial following at Union Methodist Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted and donations as a memorial to Mr. Johnson at Post Oak Springs Baptist Church.
