Graveside services for Sandra F. Nelson, 66, of Anniston will be at 3pm Sunday, March 15th, in the Gardens of Peace at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will have a private visitation prior to the service. Mrs. Nelson passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 11th, surrounded by her family after a long battle with dementia.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of almost 50 years; her daughters Shay Williamson (Barry), and Gina Lane (Hank); grandchildren Richard and Alesha Williams, and Shelby Thompson (James); and one precious great granddaughter Shyler; she is also survived by two brothers, two sisters, several nieces, nephews, friends, and extended friends.
Mrs. Nelson is preceded in death by her mother, three brothers, a niece and a nephew.
“Nanny” to everyone, was a very caring, hard-working, and loving person. She was devoted to children and her family. She was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Flowers accepted or donations may be made to the American Brain Foundation or the American Heart Association in her honor.
