Faye was known by everyone as "Grandmama". She was the "ROCK"--"THE GLUE" that held the family together. Family gatherings were her favorite. She loved for everyone to gather at her house to enjoy good food and good company. As the family gathered, she would always take time to have prayer and share some of her "Wisdom". The family never knew what she would share from her heart!! She was loved for her straightforward questions, words of wisdom and uncanny comments. She was a true homebody and enjoyed the comfort of her home. Her happiness was the simple things of life- good food, great family visits and great ballgames. Her joy was doing for others!
She was a very devoted sports fan. She attended her families sporting events as long as she was physically able. She looked forward to College Football and Professional Baseball Season. Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves brought her many hours of comfort and entertainment. Her brothers and sister would call her when a fantastic play was made or maybe even a terrible play!
Her door was always open (literally) welcoming family and friends. She was a fabulous cook and if you came in through her door she made sure you had something to eat or something to take home with you as you left!
Faye retired from Ohatchee Lunchroom with 25 years of service. During those 25 years she was the lunchroom manager, lunchroom bookkeeper and lunchroom worker all rolled into one! She made sure the football team's Pregame Meals were prepared and served. Faye never let a child, student, or teacher go hungry NO matter what! Hunger was not an option!
She was a simple lady full of love for her family whether it be immediate or extended. Her heart was always big enough to share and give love to all!
As a child, times were hard. She helped her father work on the family farm. She helped pick cotton, work in the fields, milk cows and take care of her brothers and sister.
Being part of the Bryant Family always brought her peace and happiness. The Bryant blood ran thick through her veins and provided comfort to all that knew her.
Faye was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Wellington, AL
Her family and friends will miss her dearly but they know she is happy celebrating and rejoicing in heaven with "Paw" and her family that have preceded her. Please continue to pray for her earthly family to find peace and understanding in her homegoing.
