Warren was born on September 15, 1957, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to John Wesley Waybright and Joyce Ann Waybright. As the only son of a military veteran, Warren spent part of his childhood moving with his family to different places across the country, including Texas and Illinois, and even living in Germany during his father’s military service before the family eventually returned to Anniston, Alabama.
Warren attended Oxford High School and later continued his education at Ayers State Technical College in Oxford, Alabama, where he completed a two-year program and earned a degree in Precision Machining.
One summer evening while jogging around Oxford Lake, Warren met the love of his life, Miriam Ruth “Meechie” Branning. The two were married in June of 1989 and raised two children together. Keeping his family together was important to Warren, and he always did his best to be there for them.
After Miriam passed away in 2011, Warren missed her deeply. He always kept her close to his heart and often spoke about her, holding tightly to the memories they shared together.
Warren was known for his outgoing personality and friendly nature. He never met a stranger and could turn a simple hello into a long conversation before you knew it, often talking with people for as long as they would listen. He was a Christian who believed in Jesus Christ and carried that faith with him throughout his life.
He enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures, including good food, fishing, listening to music—especially AC/DC—and cheering on Alabama football. His love of music was something he passed down to his children.
More than anything, Warren loved being around his grandchildren. He often remarked that he wanted to spend the rest of his life surrounded by them, and the time he spent with them meant the world to him.
Warren was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Waybright; his mother, Joyce Ann Waybright; and his wife, Miriam Ruth “Meechie” Branning Waybright.
He is survived by his children, Tabatha Ann Waybright, and Wesley Calvin Waybright and his wife Katrina Louise Woodrow Waybright; and his cherished grandchildren, Miriam Rae Waybright, Casper Lennon Hill, Cree Addison Waybright, and Love Willow Waybright.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 2010 Choccolocco Road, Anniston, Alabama 36207, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife.
His children and grandchildren will miss him dearly and will forever hold close the memories, love, and laughter he brought into their lives. His family finds peace in believing that through his faith in Jesus Christ, Warren is reunited once again with the love of his life, Miriam."
