William Ray Knight

Mr. Knight leaves behind his wife of 45 years to cherish his memory, Ann Knight. His loving daughter Missy Burt and special son-in law, Stanley Burt. Special granddaughter, Whitney Welch and her husband Zac. He is survived by two brothers, George Larry Knight of Jacksonville and Jerry Knight of Oxford. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Durwood Knight and Lois Charlotte Knight.

Mr. Knight is retired from the Anniston Police Department as a sergeant with over 22 years of service. He was owner of 62 Boat Sales for over 20 years. Ray was fortunate to have worked at two jobs that he loved. He enjoyed spending time on the lake on a pontoon boat with his family. He will be missed by his family. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Knight was a member of the local FOP Lodge. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Donald Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
