

Anniston – Funeral services for Mr. William “Bill” Sidney Slaughter Sr., 77, will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Slaughter passed on Thursday, February 8, 2018 peacefully working in his yard, just as he would have wanted.
Mr. Slaughter is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Slaughter; daughters, Susan (Randy) Lovvorn, and Lisa (Tyrone) Teague; son, Sidney (Darlene) Slaughter; grandchildren, Crystal Barnett, Angelica Garcia, Michael (Britteny) Garcia, Jennifer Slaughter, Jessica Slaughter, and Cody Lewis; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Mr. Slaughter was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. Mr. Slaughter was retired from M&H Valve after 34 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saks that he loved and was a member of the Kingsman Sunday School Class. He was the hardest working man, loved working around the house and yard with his wife and family. They spent their whole life rescuing dogs, cats, and other animals.
