Welcoming her to be with them in heaven are her parents, Robert and Edella Guimont; and her sister-in-law, Gloria.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years in marriage, Roger; son, Gregory (Victoria Lueck); daughter, Lanise (Aaron) Burchland; six grandchildren, Kaley (Nick) Long, Carson, Ella, Katelynn, Cade, and Ryan; her siblings, Dennis, Dale (Ruth Scherber), Daryl (Mary Fyle), David (Beverly Watson), Douglas (Sheila Steffens), Mary Kay (significant other, Roger Yaeger), Dan; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Yvonne graduated from Elk River high school in 1959. After graduation, she accepted a position at the State Bank of Anoka where she would work for 8 ½ years. She was highly skilled in savings and loans. She would attend many classes in banking to advance her skills. She was relied upon to train in new employees.
Later, she worked for Anoka Hennepin School District 11 from 1984 until 2004; in the main office at Fred Moore Middle School for a period of time and was soon promoted to the financial department at the Educational Service Center until her retirement. Most of the district finances came through her.
Yvonne was an active member of St Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar for several years where she enjoyed helping to prepare second graders for their First Communion.
Later, she was a faithful & active member of St Stephens Catholic Church for many years, where she offered her time & talents in many ways. She taught CCD classes, participated in meals on wheels, served as a Baptismal Minister for several years, later joined a group as a server at funerals, was a Eucharistic adorer. She also served with Roger at the Knights of Columbus Lenten fish frys.
On weekends, she would enjoy going up north to Greg and Victoria's cabin. She especially enjoyed when the grandkids would come up and she would play bingo and other games with them. Other activities up north were Sunday church dinners, trips to the casino, parades in Pierz, catching crappies with Dale and Ruth, then cleaning the fish, and playing cards.
She enjoyed sewing and sewed costumes for Lanise's dance recitals. She was an avid card player enjoying many different games. She enjoyed traveling, taking several bus trips and meeting new friends.
A highlight was a trip with Greg and Victoria to St. Anne de Beaupre Shrine in Quebec known for miracles. Close by was Cap St. Ignace and a visit to the Guimont ancestry settlement. A distant relative of Yvonnes invited a tour of the Guimont Homestead which was built in 1735 and preserved.
Another trip that Greg arranged, and she traveled with him and Victoria to, was Italy, highlights: Rome, the countryside, the ruins, the Vatican, St. Peter Square, seeing the pope deliver a blessing, and other sites also.
She was an avid flower gardener; her happy time was always in her gardens, (She would say “If flowers could only talk”).
She was an innovative seasonal person, enjoying the four seasons by decorating our home inside & out with new & creative ideas.
She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them, cherished her grandchildren immensely. The joy of her life always centered around faith & family, always available to lend a helping hand when needed.
