Christopher William Gerdvil, 44, of Apopka died October 20, 2014. Chris is survived by his wife of 18 years, Catherine (Sullivan) Gerdvil; his parents, Stanley and Kathleen of Langhorne, PA; his sister Lynne Sheridan of Levittown, PA; his nephew William and niece Anna. Chris was born August 14, 1970 in Manhasset, NY. Chris attended Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, PA where he played for the Neshaminy Redskins. Chris later attended University of Tampa obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Chris was a faithful Philly sports fan. He always had a good story at the ready about his Eagles, Phillies, or Flyers. When he wasn’t watching one of them play you’d probably catch him at a golf course up by a few strokes, but trying to make you a better player. Chris also donated his time and helped to raise money for New Hope for Kids or Fern Park, FL. Chris worked with local college students to raise money to grant wishes to children facing life threatening illnesses. He was always excited to volunteer for events, and the time he spent with the families they helped. A memorial service will be held for Chris at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral home in Apopka, FL. Calling hours will be from 2:00-4:00 pm Saturday August 25th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider donations to New Hope for Kids. Donations can be mailed to New Hope for Kids, 205 E. State Road 436, Fern Park, FL 32730.
