Margaret Eugenia (Thompson) Cox, 95, of Ocoee Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 16th, 2022. She was born January 10, 1927 in Tarpons Springs Florida, to the late Philip Loyd and Ida Mae (Smith) Thompson.
Margaret grew up in Tarpon Springs, Florida, enjoying life on the Anclote River and Gulf of Mexico, until moving to Zellwood in 1952. She raised her family in Zellwood, Plymouth and then Apopka. In retirement Margaret moved to Zellwood Station until moving to Assisted Living at Brookdale Wekiwa then Solaris Lake Bennet Ocoee in 2021.
Margaret worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for most of her career, ending her career in the surgical unit. She loved her work and caring for others was her passion. In her free time she loved sewing, gardening, and fishing, and anything that her family was doing together. She is a long time member of the Zellwood United Methodist Church and a Life member of the Apopka Elks, and Eastern Star.
She is predeceased in death by her spouse Jess Willard Cox; daughter Donna Karen (Cox) Jackson; and grandson Robert Jackson. She also was predeceased by her brother Charles Christopher Thompson (Kit) and her sister Melba Mae (Thompson) Davis.
She leaves behind her daughter Cynthia Elizabeth (Lungren) Rollins and son Leslie Dewitt Cox. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Danny Otis Rollins Jr., and Ramon Loyd Rollins, and Anne as well as nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday August 26th from 4-7 PM, at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Apopka Florida, 601 N. Park Ave, Apopka Florida 32712. A celebration of life will be held at Zellwood United Methodist Church on August 27, 2022 @ 2:30 PM, followed by a burial at Highland Memory Gardens.
