

Nanny went to Heaven to be with the angels on July 17th, 2011 at the ripe old age of 93. She was born April 15th, 1918 in Rutherford New Jersey to Florence Josephine and Henry Barnes Gibbia. Nanny lived in New Jersey until the age of 3 at which time they moved to New York City. They lived in New York City and she graduated from Julia Richman High School in 1936. She worked for Macy's in New York City until she married Henry Glucker in 1940. They had one daughter, Aimee in 1941, and moved from New York City to New Woodstock New York in 1946. They moved out West in 1949 to San Pedro California. Nanny was a homemaker until 1968, at which time she divorced Henry and went back to school to become an LVN. She started her new career at Kaiser Permanente in Hollywood and also worked at Hollywood Presbyterian. She worked at Queen of Angles Hospital in Los Angeles until 1971. She married Anthony Morreale, (Papa Tony) in 1971 and they resided in Glendora California until 1985, at which time they moved to Sacramento California. In 1986 she and Tony moved to Hemet California to retire and be next to their close friends. Nanny moved to McKinleyville to be near her family after Papa Tony's death in 1994. She resided in McKinleyville with her loving family and close friends.
Nanny found McKinleyville to be the best place that she had ever lived. She loved the closeness of the community and that everyone new and loved her. Nanny was involved with or a member of many community clubs and churches. She was Parishioner of Christ the King in McKinleyville and later transferred to St. Mary's where she was a member of the ICF (Italian Catholic Federation). She frequently visited the Senior Center in McKinleyville and was a member of Soroptimist International of Arcata. Nanny had many dear friends in the community, but one special friend that she spoke to daily is Mary Tanferani, of Arcata.
Nanny is preceded in death by her late husband Tony Morreale in 1994. She is also preceded in death by her brother Hank Gibbia, who passed last year. A decorated war pilot that Nanny was very proud of and she spoke of him often. Other family members who preceded her in death are step sons, Phil and Lance Morreale and her dear nephew Paul Gibbia.
She is survived by her daughter Aimee McGraw and her husband Marc, as well as her granddaughter Rachel Barnett and husband Dale. She is also survived by her proudest member of the family, Bailee Barnett. She loved and cherished each and every day that she spent with Bailee. Nanny could not miss any event that involved Bailee, including working in her classroom and watching her grow into a beautiful young woman.
There are many family members and friends to mention. The Gibbia Family, sister-in-law Bonnie and Nieces Cathy, Teresa and Vickie. Brother-in-law Noel Warner and family members, Sue, Junior, Nancy, Liz, John, Karen, and Kathy. Sister-in-law Jenny Morreale, Family members Patricia and Tim Graves, Richard Barnett and the boys, Brandon, Derrick, and Mitch. Joe and Terri Bundy with boys Billy and Nick. Audrey Davis and Todd, with girls Ashley and Jessica. Special friends Sharon Reininger, Marcy Reagan, Kelly McKenzie, Jackie Baca, a special friend, her fabulous hairdresser Nancy, and the Ford Family. Merriot, Marry Dawn, McKenzie, and McKenna. Pallbearers include Dale Barnett, Richard Barnett, Keith Staley, Merritt Ford, Doug Davis and Doug Dean Honorary Pallbearers include Marc McGraw and Tim Graves. There are many other friends that touched Nanny in so many ways. We want to thank everyone who knew her, keep her in your thoughts, and remember her as the wonderful loving person that she was.
