Ken lived a very full and interesting life. He was born in Monterey, CA. At the age of three his family moved to Mexico where he spent the next 12 years. He moved back to the U.S. to finish his education. He lived in McKinleyville for close to 40 years. He worked for various airlines in Bakersfield and locally allowing him the opportunity to travel all over the world. He had a passion for photography that started in his early twenties. One of his favorite past times was gold mining in Siskiyou County with friends. He was a successful local business owner for over 30 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years Janet Kretsinger; his daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Dane Parker; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Brian Sousa; son Anthony Hinojosa; grandchildren Ashly and Rachael Hinojosa, Jordan and Riley Sousa, and Zoey Parker; his sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Magdalino Vasquez; nieces Sharon Ruffo and family, Patty and family; nephews Karl, Frank, Jeff and Kris Fritz and their families, and Matt and Steven Peterson. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth F. and Blanca Kretsinger. Services will be held at Paul's Chapel in Arcata on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 1:00 PM with visitation starting at 9:00 AM. Interment will take place at Trinidad Cemetery following the services. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society . He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed.
