Michael Anthony Goad

Michael went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2011 in Quincy, CA while on a job site. Michael was born August 28, 1962 in Oneida, TN. He attended Blue Lake Elementary and Arcata High. After high school he served our country as a United States Marine. Michael held a wide variety of jobs from working on cruise ships to a long-time sales position with Mickeys Used Cars in McKinleyville. He loved people and life. In 2000 the light of his life, his daughter Chandra was born. Michael was a single parent for many years until his health problems made it no longer possible. His whole world was Chanda and he loved her unconditionally. In recent months Michael reunited with his church roots and spent many hours helping out around the church and attending services. He made his peace with the Lord and was ready when his name was called. He was preceded in death by his cousin Mitch and Greg Goad, and his brother Freddy. He is survived by his daughter Chanda of Eugene, Ore. Parents- Barry and June Goad of Blue Lake, Brother- Richard Goad, Blue Lake, sisters Deborah (Edward) Rassumessen, Blue Lake, Veronica (Zak) Peltier, Big Bar, nephews: Justin Goad, Chad Swanlund, Josh Rassumessen, Nieces: Bridget Steeves, Jessica Swanlund, Charity Goad, Laquessa Goad. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 27, 2011 at Pauls Chapel in Arcata 11:00am to 1:00pm, with graveside services immediately following at 1:30pm at Greenwood Cemetery.
