

Mr. William “Bill” VanPelt, 69, a resident of Sophia died Monday April 26, 2010 at his residence. Mr. VanPelt was born October 2, 1940 in Red Bank, NJ, a son of Lester VanPelt Sr. and Marion Chadwick VanPelt. Mr. VanPelt was a maintenance manager for apartment complexes in High Point until his health began to decline. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Thomasville. On October 19, 1980 he was married to the former Susie “Sue” Seawell who survives of the home.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two daughters, Angie Russell and husband Terry of High Point, Julie Causey and husband Ken of Sophia; three sisters, Betty Scott of Augusta, GA, Marion “Sis” Rinker of Martinez, GA, Patty Collins and husband Al of Tom Ball, TX; four brothers, Ed VanPelt and wife Mildred of Bricktown, NJ, Ernie VanPelt and wife Mary of Red Bank, NJ, Lester VanPelt, Jr. and wife Chris of Shrewsbury, NJ, John VanPelt and wife Toby of Aiken, SC; four granddaughters, Christin Russell, Stevi Wall, Samantha Wall and friend Justin, Madison Causey; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Hilltop Baptist Church in Thomasville conducted by the Reverend W.A. Seawell, Jr.. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. VanPelt will remain at Sechrest Funeral Service, 120 Trindale Rd. until placed into the church thirty minutes before the service. The family will receive friends at Sechrest Funeral Service on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Piedmont and the staff for the loving care and concern that was provided to Mr. VanPelt and his family.
