

Claude “Jack” Askie Blackmon, age 67, of High Point, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012. He was born on February 26, 1945 to Claude and Pearline Blackmon in Cumberland County, NC. He married his sweetheart of 46 years on January 21, 1966 and together they had three children. Jack loved to tinker outdoors and loved to work in the garden. He retired from his own maintenance and repair company Jack’s Maintenance and Repair. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather (poppy), and a wonderful man to everyone that knew him. He always left a lasting impression on those whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed by many.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd, Carl, Harold and Wiles “Teeny”. Survivors include his wife, Mamie “Nell” Blackmon; son, Chris Blackmon; daughters, Donna Blackmon and Linda Blackmon-Craig and her husband Steven; daughter-in-law, Sandra Blackmon; sisters, Grace Blackmon, Dorothy Tollison and Hazel Campbell and her husband David; brothers, Wayne Blackmon and his wife Sylvia and Billy Blackmon and his wife Edna; grandchildren, Brittany Collins, Courtney Williams, Amber Blackmon and Aaron Blackmon, great grandchildren, Kaylen Atwood, Gabby Arthurs, Riley Boyd, Keagan Boyd, Eli Boyd and Tristen Wolford.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8:00pm at the funeral home.
