Evelyn Peacock Thornburg 74, of Pleasant Garden, NC passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025. Evelyn was born on July 12, 1951, in Guilford County, NC, daughter of Joseph and Evelyn Wall Peacock. She enjoyed working in the cafeteria and retired from Guilford County School System. Evelyn loved animals, going to the beach, spending time with family and watching Hallmark.
She is preceded in death by her father Joseph B. Peacock and husband Gary Thornburg.
Evelyn is survived by her mother Evelyn Peacock, sons; Timmy Thornburg (Dawn), Bitty Thornburg (Tiffany); grandson Tyler Thornburg, brothers Joey and Mike Peacock.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 5, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm, Advantage Funeral and Cremation of Archdale, 120 Trindale Road, Archdale, NC 27263. Graveside service will be Tuesday, January 6, 2026, 2:00 pm at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
