Larry Yale Sheppard

Larry Yale Sheppard, age 86, of Greensboro, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital. He was born December 27, 1937, a son of the late Yale Edward Sheppard and Pauline Snyder Sheppard.

Larry was a graduate of Allen Jay High School. He worked in the furniture industry and retired after 45 years. Larry was a member of Archdale Methodist Church, where he was a member of the George Elder Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Bush Hill Masonic Lodge in Archdale.

Left to cherish his memory are sons, Christopher Yale Sheppard (Susan), Michael Edward Sheppard (Bonnie); grandchildren, Katherine Sheppard King (John), Zachary Sheppard; step-grandson, Jackson Thomas; sister, Betsy Sheppard Reagan (Tommy); brother-in-law, Robert U. Zimmerman III; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Aldora Zimmerman Sheppard; and sister-in-law, Jill Zimmerman.

A memorial service for Larry will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Archdale Methodist Church, 11543 N Main St, Archdale, NC. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
