

Mona dedicated her entire life to her family and service to her community and others.
Mona attended A. S. U. for two years and transferred to Rowan Memorial Hospital where she earned a degree in X-Ray Technology.
Mona worked as an X-ray technician at City Memorial Hospital and later for Dr. C. O. Plyer, Jr.
Her parents Raymond and Flora Siler bought their first funeral home in 1944. After several years in the health care business, Mona joined her mother and father at Siler Funeral Home. After her father’s death, she and her mother sold to Sechrest Funeral Home in 1978, where she remained until she retired.
Mona was a Cub Scout Leader for several years. She was a former member of the Thomasville Junior Women’s Club, The Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Thomasville Pilot Club. She was also a member of the Thomasville Women’s Club where she held several offices.
Mona joined the Thomasville Chapter No. 171 Order of the Eastern Star at age 18, after being a Rainbow Girl for several years. She was very active serving in several offices before her health prevented her from being active. She last held the office of Chaplain. In May 2004, Mona was presented with a 50 year service pin.
Mona was a member of the First Baptist Church in Thomasville where she served as a teacher in the first grade class, toddler class and newborn nursery for several years.
Mona’s greatest pleasures were times spent with her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend time at her beach house sitting on the front porch just rocking and watching people.
Mona was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mikles. She is survived by her sons; Randy and wife Sharon Aaron of Trinity, Bill Aaron of Thomasville, Jerry and wife Tracey Aaron of Lexington and her step-daughter, Renee Mikles Hoffman of Black Mountain. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Lindsay Page Aaron, Katie Jo Aaron, Ana Lyn Aaron and Bailey Renee Aaron.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Thomasville with visitation one hour prior to the service at 1 p. m.
