

Amelia Zoe “Amy” Jensen was born September 14, 1939 in St. Louis, MO to Leo Spiros and Dorothy (nee Stapleton) Siminis. She died May 18, 2026 at Mariella in Arlington Heights.
Amy earned her nursing license from Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis in 1960, and worked at various nursing and customer service jobs throughout her life. She and Charles (Chuck) Jensen married in 1966 and moved to the Detroit area in 1969, where they lived first in Southfield and later in Troy. When her children were in school, she was an active volunteer, including volunteer librarian, and played in several bridge groups. As empty nesters, she and Chuck enjoyed cruise vacations and spending time with and spoiling their grandchildren, and she enjoyed going on walks with her dogs Smokey and Lucky and feeding the birds in her backyard birdfeeders.
Amy is survived by her children Jennifer, Elizabeth (Martin) Bauer and Charles Jr. (Dawn) Jensen; her grandchildren Brandon, Emily (Kyle) Gannon, Charles III, Alexander, Timothy and Michael; her great grandchildren Marley, Zaylee, and Raegan; and her siblings Carol Denes, Nancy (Ken) Offerman, and Richard Siminis.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles “Chuck” Jensen and her sister Joyce (John) Cessna.

Visitation at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church will be held at 1234 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, US, on May 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
A Committal Service will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421, US, on May 26, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
