Angela Longo La Porta was born August 9, 1928 in Chicago to Frank and Vivian (nee D'Anna) Longo.

She died November 9, 2016 in Journey Care Hospice at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

In Chicago Angela attended Roosevelt High School and during a summer before graduation, attended Eleanor Camp in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. When her parents were hoping to purchase a summer home in 1957, she suggested they look in Lake Geneva. Many summers since, precious memories have been made there for all extended family. Her creativity knew no limits. She was a Girl Scout co-leader and being an avid gardener, volunteered at the Chicago Botanic Garden where later she ventured out becoming a licensed arborist, developing a small business, which made her very happy. Angela also continued her education at Harper College and DeVry Institute which contributed to her work at Western Electric and then A.T. & T. She was an extraordinary cook and baker, enjoyed having family and neighborhood parties, tackled sewing and crafting projects, and was always busy. Her kindness, love, and generosity were felt by all who knew her. Above all, she loved her grandchildren dearly. She is loved and very much missed.

Angela is survived by her children Cynthia (Wayne) Lange and John (Beth) La Porta; her grandchildren Nicholas Lange, Jennifer La Porta, Emily La Porta, Benjamin Lange and John Anthony La Porta and by her siblings Marie (late Frank) Blanchard, Ellie (Ed) Wilson and Alice (Joe) Sherman. Angela is preceded in death by her parents; and by her former husband, John Joseph La Porta.
