Barbara S. Couve

Barbara S. Couve was born on February 5, 1933 in Highland Park, Illinois to Clarence Robert and Hazel Genevieve (nee Booth) Scott. She died Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Couve worked as a photo typesetter for BC Lettering and she was a Teacher’s Aide at Central Road School.

She was a multi-sport athlete, a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Student Council. While at Grinnell College, she was on the Homecoming Court, the Mardi Gras Queen as well as a Langan Sweetheart.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Peggy Couve, Susan (Michael) Anderson and Lori Couve; her grandchildren Ruben Carl Garcia, Annika Garcia (Ron) Farmer, Victoria Garcia, Shaun Forrest (Carolyn) Anderson, Samantha Anderson and great-grandson Brayden Farmer.

She was happiest when traveling with Carl or cheering on her children and grandchildren at all of their activities.

She was preceded in death by her spouse of 62 years Carl Forrest Couve, her parents as well as her sister Shirley (late Lyle) Jacobs.

Visitation Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
