Bennie "Ben" H. Grill

Bennie "Ben" H. Grill, left this world on June 11, 2025, at the age of 83, in Wheeling, IL. Born on January 1,1942 in Chicago, IL, he brought light and warmth into the lives of everyone he touched. Ben was preceded in death by his loving parents, Benjamin and Arlene Grill, his brother, Bob, and his cherished in-laws, Norman and Betty Clavey.

Ben was the loving husband of Idee (Clavey) Grill for 53 years, with whom he grew a loving family, filled with an abundance of cherished memories. Ben and Idee met while working at Allstate Insurance, where Ben continued to work for over 40 years. As a father, Ben’s children, Jori (Brian) Reuter and Britni (Arthur) Czaja, knew his love through his actions, guidance, and the endless support he provided.

His role as a Papa was one he held with great pride. Paige Reuter, Reese Reuter, Zach Czaja, Brooke Czaja, and James Czaja will forever hold dear the moments spent with their grandfather. Ben's legacy as a family man is further evidenced by his role as a beloved uncle to Lisa, Katie, and Ashlie, and brother-in-law to Connie (Joe) Lardo.

Ben loved fishing with his grandkids, a pastime that not only brought him joy but also taught patience, respect for nature, and the value of quiet moments. Family vacations in Door County, Wisconsin, and Minnesota were treasured, where memories were made and bonds were strengthened. Ben also had a passion for golf, a game through which he played with his late father-in-law, his brother-in-law, and sons-in-laws. His competitive spirit shined in his love for bowling with coworkers and participating in his company's softball league.

Ben’s family and friends will miss his warm smile and optimistic outlook on life. Ben's spirit will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends.

A visitation for Ben will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Parish, 10 N Buffalo Grove Rd, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. Private interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
