Bernard J. Callahan, 93 of Arlington Heights was born July 6, 1923 in Chicago to Bernard and Josephine (nee Kopenski) Callahan and passed away January 31, 2017. Bernard was the beloved husband of the late Bernice; loving father of Barbara (Robert) Elder, Maureen (Lloyd) Girdler and Mary (Wayne) Pearson; cherished grandfather of Douglas (Demetra) Elder, Carrie (Clark) Sell, Stacey (Dax) Rose, Scott (fiancé Renae Park) Girdler, Klint (Vanessa) Pearson and Kyle (Emily) Pearson; great-grandfather of Evan, Olivia and Owen Elder, Ethan and Addison Sell, Caroline Rose and Brooklyn, Taylor and Skylar Pearson and dear brother of Margaret Callahan and the late Thomas Callahan, Patricia Kantecki and Rosemary Guihan. Visitation will be Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 2-7 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights where funeral service will be held Monday, February 6 at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
