

Carl F. CouveOf Rolling MeadowsCarl F. Couve was born on February 3, 1932 in Evanston, Illinois to Forrest and Clara (nee Kaub) Couve. He died Monday, March 7, 2016 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.Carl worked as Art Director for Mosstype, and later owned his own business, BC Lettering. He was a member of the Grinnell College Wrestling Team, Kiwanis, Our Saviour"s Lutheran Church, and was president of the Rolling Meadows Chamber of Commerce. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant before his honorable discharge in 1958. He also served as the Mayor of Rolling Meadows from 1991 to 1995.Carl is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Couve (nee Scott), his children, Peggy (Ruben) Garcia, Susan (Michael) Anderson and Lori Couve; grandchildren, Ruben Carl, Annika and Victoria Garcia, and Shaun and Samantha Anderson; siblings, Joyce (Harold) Fraunhofer, Marilyn (Chris) Stirmell and Robert (Janus) Couve; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Carl"s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights, and visitation at Our Saviour"s Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights Monday, March 14, 2016 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service 12:00 pm. Interment is at Memory Gardens Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Clearbrook, Our Saviour"s Lutheran Church, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
