Carl W. Scalet

Carl W. Scalet, 90, of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away peacefully at The Lutheran Home at 11:45 pm on Monday, September 1, 2025. The son of William and Anna (Lemke) Scalet, Carl was born March 1, 1935, in Chicago, IL.

Carl is a graduate of Lane Tech High School (Chicago) and Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL). Following a brief time in the Army, he worked for United Airlines and retired after 35 years. Carl spent many years playing the accordion in a wedding band and was an active member of the Lions Club of Arlington Heights. He also enjoyed spending time in Door County with his family.

Carl is survived by his three loving children, Lisa (Douglas) Longworth, Steven (Keri) Scalet and Amy Scalet; three grandchildren, Kate Scalet, Gwyn Scalet and William Longworth.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Scalet (nee Stanchfield); brother, William Scalet; and his parents.

A visitation for Carl will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Private interment will be held at Saint John Cemetery, in Arlington Heights.
